Fresh Local Meat Available at the Plaza

Thanks to Jamey Lionette’s efforts, his Jamaica Plain community has access to more healthy local food at prices people can afford. For several months, Jamey has helped Harry Perez, owner of Plaza Meat Market in Egleston Square, bring in whole hogs and other local meat. Now, every other Friday, people are flocking to the JP butcher to buy local pork, chicken and beef and City Fresh produce will soon be added to the mix. With the recent notice of Whole Foods entry into this market, Jamey’s effort in support of the local bodega could not be better timed. For more information, be sure to read the recent Metro article – or better yet, go check out the Plaza yourself.
