The Sustainable Business Network of Massachusetts has become hyper aware of how quickly things are changing from day to day. The speed with which local businesses have had to adapt and mold their services in this difficult period have not gone unrecognized by the community. We have witnessed how incredibly resilient our businesses and communities have had to be, and we are here to support local businesses as best as we can during this time. Please find below some useful resources we have put together.
- NEW: Baker Administration Announces COVID-19 Grants for Small Businesses – Governor Baker has just announced that his Administration will make close to $51 million available in grants for small businesses across Massachusetts. The grants will be administered by the Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation (MGCC) and prioritize minority-owned businesses that did not receive emergency relief funding from the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) earlier this summer.
- SBN’s Small Business Ask For Help Toolkit – including informational articles incorporating the recent CARES Act provided by SBN member Capital Management Partners, LLC (visit their COVID-19 Resources page).
- SBN’s Local Business Directory – SBN has put together a directory of essential and non-essential local businesses to support during the health crisis. The list focuses on our Buy Local region of Boston and Greater Boston and includes stores and restaurants, farm and fish businesses, breweries/wineries/distilleries, and local food delivery services. For local businesses: please fill out this form for promotion in our newsletters and socials.
- Save Our Economy NOW! – SBN along with groups like Cambridge Local First, American Sustainable Business Council, Black Economic Council of MA, American Independent Business Alliance, and Foundation for Business Equity have come together to draft and release a petition to Congress to get funding into the hands of small businesses, farms, fisheries, minority and low income communities as quickly as possible.
